This Tripura mulberry silk attire designed in Assamese Mekhela Chadar. There are two main pieces of cloth that are draped around the body. The upper dupatta like chadar ( length 2.80 to 3 meters) draped the upper torso and the bottom portion, draped from the waist downwards, is called the mekhela (Assamese: মেখেলা).
